Anthony Kazmer

INDIANA, PA. — KAZMER – Anthony, 87, Indiana, passed away Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at the Communities at Indian Haven. Born April 15, 1925, in Barnesboro, son of the late Joseph and Cecelia Dvofka Kazmer. Anthony was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific. During his career, he was a business owner and the meat department manager of Barnesboro Meat Market. He loved collecting bells from all over the world and was active in the bell collecting community as a member of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Bell Association International Inc., where he served as chairman of one of the earliest directories and as an avid participant in the activities of the American Bell Association International. He was active in the Country Club Estates Unit Owners Association, an usher for many years at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church and a lifetime member of the VFW. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Alma Bagley Kazmer, Indiana, who was the chairperson of the home economics and child development department at Indiana University of Pennsylvania for many years; two brothers, Paul Kazmer, Cleveland, Ohio, and Andrew Kazmer, Chesterland, Ohio; sister-in-law, Sarah M. Bagley; and brother-in-law, Raymond Bagley. Anthony also is survived by nieces and nephews who were an important part of his life, John and Mary Kazmer’s children, Ronald and Catherine; Stephen and Agnes Kazmer’s children, Stephen and Jeanne; Joseph and Margaret Kazmer’s children, Marilyn, Margaret and Michael; Ann and Ken Horoho’s children, Kenwyn, Kathleen, Ken, Kevin, Kristopher and Karen; Paul and Jean Kazmer’s children, Paula, Kenneth, Mark, Jenine and Maryann; Andrew and Dawn Kazmer’s children, Carol, James, David, Andrea and Joseph; Ron and Sarah Bagley’s children, Jan and Ronald; and Raymond and Mariam Bagley’s children, Bobby and Margie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Ann Horoho; four brothers, John, Stephen, Frank and Joseph Kazmer; brother-in-law, Ronald Bagley; sister-in-law, Mariam Bagley; and nephew, Richard Kazmer. Friends will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Robinson-Lytle Inc., Indiana. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Bernard Clairvaux Catholic Church, Father William J. Kiel, celebrant. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Anthony Kazmer to St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church, 200 Clairvaux Drive, Indiana, Pa. 15701 or to a charity of choice.
