PATTON — McCONNELL – Duane T. “Possy,” 85, Patton, passed away Feb. 9, 2013, at his home. He was born Feb. 20, 1927, in Patton, son of James and Helen (Watt) McConnell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Jean (Bradley) McConnell; son, Christopher; and siblings, Gerald, Walter, Gertrude Kovach, Cathy LaBelle, Mary Seymour, Edwin, Michael and Mark. Survived by children, Clifford (Sharon) McConnell, Patton; Clinton (Nathalie) McConnell, Carrolltown; and Christine (Steven) Pusateri, Indiana; grandchildren James, Aaron and Micah McConnell and Lance Batdorf; brothers and sisters, Ann Lee, Maryland; Rita Lacey, Patton; John McConnell, Loretto; Patricia Yencho, Patton; and Carl McConnell, Patton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Duane was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a flooring specialist retiring from Penn Installation after many years of service. He was a member of the Carpenters Union, Patton Senior Center, Patton VFW Post 779 and Patton FOE Aerie 1244. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, outdoors man and enjoyed watching the Steelers. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Stevens Funeral Home Inc., 1004 N. Fifth Ave., Patton. Funeral service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, Benedictine Fathers, officiating. Interment, St. Mary’s Cemetery, Patton.
