JOHNSTOWN — VENEY – Wilbur “Bug” Lee Jr., 77, Johnstown, died Feb. 8, 2013. Born April 13, 1935, in Johnstown, son of the late Wilbur Sr. and Bertha (Wallace) Veney. Also preceded in death by brothers, William and Robert Veney. Survived in death by the love of his life, Betty Jean (Jefferson). They have enjoyed more than 56 years of marriage. Also survived by children, Lisa (Fred) Boykin, Houston, Texas; Gilbert (Michelle), Leesburg, Va.; and Brian (Yolanda), Seven Fields; grandchildren, Michelle, Michael, Gilbert Jr., Simone, Amber, Ashley and William; six great-grandchildren; goddaughter, Veronica Bryant, Birmingham, Ala.; siblings, James Veney, Helen Johnson and William Roebuck, all of Johnstown; and Elaine Williams, Indiana; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Wilbur started his career at Bethlehem Steel as a laborer and worked his way into management, having retired after 35 years of service. Bug had a deep and abiding love for His Savior, Jesus Christ, having served faithfully at First Cambria AME Zion Church as an usher and in the men’s choir. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd., and from 9 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Christ Centered Community Christian Church, 531 Somerset St., the Rev.
