Born April 4, 1921, in Luzerne, Pa., daughter of Charles and Mary (Sabo) Shimko. Preceded in death by parents; husband, George T. Cunkelman Sr.; brothers, Charlie, Mike, John, Steve and Louis; and sister, Elizabeth Shimko. Survived by loving sons, John C., married to the former Ruth A. Kirkpatrick, Berwinsdale, Pa.; and George T. Jr., married to the former Yen Kim Do, Johnstown; grandchildren, Mary E. (Kevin) Gingrich, Hanover, Md.; John (Isabella) Cunkelman, Berwinsdale, Pa.; and James (Lisa) Cunkelman, Fairbanks, Alaska; Kimberly (Christopher) Stewart, Canonsburg, Pa.; Ann (Jamie) McDonnell, Fort Drum, N.Y.; and Georgiana (Shawn) Novatny, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; great-grandchildren, William, Iian, John, Veronica, Joseph, Christian, Rylie, Addison and Kai; and several nieces and nephews. Member of Bethany Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and working with flowers in her garden. Mary loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is now with her best friend and love of her life, George Sr. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Saturday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, Pastor Denise Ann Todero, CRE, officiating.
