Josephine L. Hite

PATTON — HITE – Josephine L. “Jo,” 56, Eckenrode Mill Road, Patton, died Nov. 17, 2012, at home. Born March 19, 1956, in Spangler, daughter of the late Carl and Madeline (Holmberg) Durbin. Preceded in death by infant sister, Theresa. Survived by husband, Kevin, whom she married July 28, 1973, in Chest Springs; children, Melisa Hite, Patton; Heather Novotny (Blaise), Ebensburg; and Kevin ll (Amy Kline), Carrolltown; six grandchildren, Jocelyn Hornick, Trevor Novotny, Benjamin Hite, Tessa Novotny, Hannah Rose Hite and Eli Hite. Sister of Mary Watt, James, Richard, Jeanette Adams, Patrick, Elaine, Paul and Gregory. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Jo enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and playing cards. Graduated with honors in 1991 from St. Francis College, Loretto, with a degree in business management. Owned and operated Family Business in Carrolltown. Member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, the Rev. Jude Brady OSB, celebrant. Friends will be received from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, Ashville, where a vigil service will be held Monday. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to United Cerebral Palsy or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Jo’s memory.
