SCALP LEVEL — KEBISEK – Helen A. (Mayket), Scalp Level. There is always one star that shines brighter than the others. A star that leads, a star that guides. A star that teaches, a star that smiles. A star that loves, a star that always gives much more than it receives. On Nov. 18, 2012, one of those stars did not burn out. With the Lord as her shepherd, she merely began a new journey. Whether we called her mom, sister, Nana, Aunt Helen, or just Helen, we are left with a void in our hearts. But that void fills and overflows with a lifetime of cherished memories. And we do not feel pain, because we were loved. Every one of us. Though preceded in death, we take comfort in Helen being reunited with her parents, Joseph and Mary (Shedlosky) Mayket; her husband, Steve J. Kebisek; sister, Margaret Sondey; brother, Joseph Mayket; and special friend, John Shuster. And those she leaves behind, she now watches over, including her daughter, Dolores, wife of Victor Foy, Windber; son, David Kebisek, and wife, Beth, Florida; grandchildren, Ryan Foy; Craig Kebisek; and Sally (Kebisek), wife of James Krick; great-grandchildren, Brady and Alexis Krick; brother, George “Dixie” Mayket, and wife, Wanda, Arizona; sisters-in-law, Christine Nosal, Pittsburgh; and Katherine Kebisek, Windber; and numerous nieces and nephews; also “Chloe.” Helen was a housekeeper and cook for many years at the rectory of SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, Windber. Member of SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, Windber, where Helen was a member of the Rosary Society and Mary Guild and where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, the Rev. George M. Gulash. Committal, church cemetery, Windber. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at William Kisiel Funeral Home, Windber, where vigil for the deceased will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Church of the Brethren Home, Windber, or Windber Hospice in Helen’s memory.
