Anna (Homich) Nayda

AIKEN, S.C. — NAYDA – Anna (Homich), 78, Aiken, S.C., formerly of Cairnbrook; Bridgeton, N.J.; Ivanhoe, N.C.; and Hereford, Ariz., passed away peacefully Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at Aiken Regional Hospital, Aiken, S.C. Survived by husband of 55 years, Walter J. Nayda; daughters, Debra Ann, married to Leon V. Tice, Schellsburg; and Kimberly Sue, married to Andrew St. Clair, Aiken, S.C.; grandchildren, Leon Travis Tice (Heidi Horst), and great-granddaughters, Lucy and Molly; Lee Ann Marie, married to Jeff Huber; Garrett Bret Tice, married to Tiffney Miller, and great-granddaughter, Kinsley; and Katlyn Sue Tice; sisters, Helen, married to the late Bronislaw Golubinski, Brooklyn, N.Y.; and Judy Ann, married to William McGraw, Tucson, Ariz.; brother, Michael, Cairnbrook; ex-sister-in-law, Maria (Giannone) Homich; nieces and nephews, William Robert Jr. and Cynthia Homich; Desiree Marie and Matthew Crisera Jr.; Sally Ann and Michael Caprara; Dorothy Hanchett; Margaret and Louis Caprara; Deborah and Charles Leppert; Lorraine Sutera; William Golubinski; Jacqueline and Will Trice; James and John Wisniewski; Robert Nicholas and Heather Mossbrooks; Josif Homich; and Ronald Ray and Mary (Homich) Schmidt; 17 great-nieces and -nephews; and numerous cousins. Born March 25, 1934, in Cairnbrook, daughter of Nicholas and Anastasia Nancy (Berezonski) Homage-Homich. Preceding her in death were her son, Walter J. Nayda Jr. “Butchie”; her parents; sisters, Mary, married to the late Joseph Hancharik; Susan, married to Edmond Wisniewski; and Nancy; brothers, Adam; Frank; John; Nicholas Jr., married to Wanda Rothrock; and William Robert, married to Maria Luisa “Marilou” Villafuerte; nephews, James Hanchett and Lenny Sutera; maternal and paternal grandparents; and aunts and uncles. Anna was a graduate of Shade High School, Cairnbrook, Class of 1954. While raising her family, she worked at Owens-Illinois, Triton Glass and Durand Glass in New Jersey, and retired from Holt’s Hosiery in Burgaw, N.C. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and dancing, and will always be remembered for her bright blue eyes, her humor, her laugh and funny quirks and jokes. She always wished the best for her loved ones and demonstrated her selfless generosity. She will be dearly missed. Arrangements by Schellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home-Schellhouse-Rivers Crematory in Aiken, S.C. Service was private. Final resting place will be held at a later date.
