MILLER – Richard T. “Dick,” 79, Portage, passed away, Nov. 24, 2012, at home. Born May 20, 1933, in Portage, son of Charles W. and Alma (Doyle) Miller. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Phyllis (Storey) Miller; brothers and sisters, Helen Kenny; Charles “Bud” Miller, and wife, Gail; Robert Miller, and wife, Eleanor; Ruth Kimlin, and husband, John; Mid Cullen, and husband, Buck; Marilyn Layo; and John “Jack” Miller; grandson, Benjamin Hazlett; and great granddaughter, Alexis Paige Miller. Survived by children, Alene, wife of James Kelly, Centreville, Va.; Rebecca, wife of Joseph Whiteley, Windsor; Scott Miller, and wife, Charlene, Portage; Joyce Kenner, Emerald Isle, N.C.; Charles W. Miller; and Kelly Miller, both of Portage. He will be sadly missed by 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also survived by sisters-in-law, Margaret Vrobel and Lillian Miller, and brother-in-law, Edward Layo. He was the last member of his immediate family. U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Retired manager from Pennsylvania State Aerial Farm Statistics. He also was the owner/operator of the Stop-n-Go Pizza and Video in Portage. He enjoyed going to auctions, golfing, helping others and was a fix-it man. Friends received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Portage, Father Walter J. Moll, celebrant. Committal, Forest Lawn Cemetery, Johnstown. The family would like to thank Memorial Medical Center Hospice for their dedicated care and suggests memorial contributions be made to them in Dick’s name.
