WINDBER — LASLO – Rose E. (Stevens), 96, Windber, went to be with the Lord Nov. 26, 2012, at Windber Hospice. Born April 27, 1916, in Windber, daughter of Steven M. and Mary (Bartok) Stefan. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Joseph F. Laslo; sister, Mary Baschko; and brother, Steve Stevens. Survived by daughter and caregiver, Rosemary Nelson, with whom Rose resided, Windber; grandson, Edward A. Nelson, and wife, Lisa (Sauter), Windber; sister, Ellen Gardy, Windber; and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of the former St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Windber, and a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Windber. Friends received from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at William Kisiel Funeral Home, Windber, where funeral service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, the Very Rev. Leonard E. Voytek, VF, pastor, officiating, with visitation to continue afterward. Interment, St. Mary Roman Catholic Cemetery, Windber. The family wishes to express their thanks and appreciation to Rose’s nurse, Andria Bowser; her caregivers, Jessica Berkey, Cookie, Diane, Margie and Mary Ann; and family friends, Jan and Doug Thierry and Jim Kleban; and also Cheryl Weckoski, Northern EMS and Windber Hospice and staff.
