JOHNSTOWN — URBAN – Joseph J. “Casey,” 95, Johnstown, died Nov. 29, 2012, at Memorial Medical Center. Born July 28, 1917, in Johnstown, son of John and Mary (Tacac) Urban. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, John, Nicholas, Stephen, Frank, Anthony and Simon; and sister, Anna Bagley. Survived by loving wife of 69 years, Stella (Kwiatkowski) Urban; children, Joseph J. Jr., Fairfax, Va.; Maureen, wife of Don O’Connor, Somerset Pike; Natalie, wife of Joseph Voytko, Hollidaysburg; and David, married to the former Susan Walls, Heber City, Utah; grandchildren, Joseph, Stephen and Marylouise, Casey, Katherine, Elizabeth, Peter, Andy, Brittany and Tabitha; brother, Bernard Urban; and sister, Veronica Burke. Charter member of St. Clement Catholic Church. Casey was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, where he served with the Flying Tigers. Former coach at the Upper Yoder Baseball Little League and Junior League and the City League; and as a baseball player, was recruited by the Brooklyn Dodgers. Former member of Turner Hall, where he served as secretary for 25 years. Casey was an avid duck pin bowler, having won many trophies; golfer; and volunteer bingo caller for many years. He enjoyed gardening and counted cross-stitching. At the family’s request, there will be no public visitation, however friends and family are invited to attend a funeral Mass at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Clement Catholic Church, Father William Rosenbaum, officiating.
