JOHNSTOWN — CRAWLEY – Friederike “Erika,” 81, Johnstown, died Nov. 30, 2012, at Memorial Medical Center. She was born March 3, 1931, in Salzburg, Austria, daughter of the late Maxmillion and Ledig (Hausgelillin) Hofbauer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Thomas; daughter, Martina “Sissy”; a grandson, Charlie Palmer; and several siblings. She is survived by her loving husband, John Crawley; children, Lilliane “Sandy” Swagger, and husband, Dale, Rockford, Ill.; Deacon Josef, and wife, Gloria; and Hans, and wife Sharon, both of California; Rebecca Palmer, and husband, Mike, Orange Park, Fla.; and Conny Crawley and Heidi Jones, both of Johnstown; and grandchildren to whom she was “Oma,” Christofer, Mittina, Savannah, Jessica, Eric, Sean, Maxmillion, CC and Sheldon; and great-grandchildren Cha-Cha, Christopher ”Bob,” Bradley and Jasper. She was a member of St. John Gualbert Cathedral, a button-box polka fanatic, a much beloved mother and grandmother and was very proud of America, not her country of birth, but her country. Funeral services will be private with the Rev. Clarence Bridges officiating. Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd., is in charge of arrangements. Interment, Grandview Cemetery.
