HASTINGS — McCREERY – Russell E., 71, Hastings, formerly of Northern Cambria, died July 2, 2012, at Golden Living Center-HAIDA, Hastings. Born July 9, 1940, in Cherry Tree, son of LeRoy E. and Agnes (Graham) McCreery. Preceded in death by parents; daughter, Linda Hawsford; and brothers, Leroy Edward Jr., Robert, Joanne and Larry. Survived by daughter, Debbie Sue (Kevin) Gurnovich; and three grandchildren; also two great-grandchildren. Brother of Harry LeRoy, Westover; Marlene Myers, Catlett, Va.; Shirley (Edward) Holtz, and Patricia (Merl) Pierce, both of Hastings; Richard, Northern Cambria; Marilyn (Irvine) Phipps, Yukon, Pa.; John (Bonnie), Youngstown, Ohio; and Mary Malligan, Altoona; and many nieces and nephews. He was a former construction worker. Friends received from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. Friday at Long-Contres Funeral Home Inc., Cherry Tree, the Rev. Matthew Blake Sr. Interment, Citizen’s Cemetery.
