BERLIN — BEACHLEY – Elsie M., 94, Berlin, went to be with the Lord Nov. 4, 2012, at home. Born June 1, 1918, in Brothersvalley Township, daughter of Simon C. and Malinda Belle (Brant) Long. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Devon S. Beachley; brothers, John W. and Simon E. Long; and son-in-law, John F. Coleman. Survived by children, Anna Belle Bockes, and husband, Ronald, Berlin; Rev. Dr. Ronald D. Beachley, married to the former Linda Brougher, Davidsville; Janet L. Smith, and husband, Frank, Flintstone, Md.; and Simon Beachley, and friend, North Palm Beach, Fla.; grandchildren, Ronald (Cindy), John Bradley (Christina) and Kenneth (Patty) Coleman; Emaline (Martin) Diehl; DeVon (Leasa), DeAnna and Donn (Theresa) Beachley; and Delton (Lisa) Smith; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Anna Belle Folk, Grantsville, Md.; and Helen S. (Robert) Brant, Somerset; and sisters-in-law, Rita Long, Garrett; and Emily Williams, Cumberland, Md. A 1936 graduate of Berlin High School. Retired from Berlin School Cafeteria and Berlin Brethren Church as custodian. Member of Beachdale Church of the Brethren, Women’s Fellowship, and former choir member. Member of Berlin Area Senior Citizens, and former volunteer for many years at Meadow View Nursing Center. Elsie cared for many elderly and children in Berlin during the years. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin. Viewing also from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Friday at Beachdale Church of the Brethren, the Rev. Tim Vaughn and the Rev. Joe Brown, officiating. Interment, Beachdale Cemetery.
