WEST DEER TOWNSHIP — FOUST – Rev. Howard F., 65, formerly of West Deer Township, passed peacefully Nov. 4, 2012, surrounded by his family. Born July 11, 1947, at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights in Harrison Township, grew up in Curtisville and Sarver, and graduated from Knoch High School. Howard worked locally in the steel mill and also at Shop-n-Save as the produce manager for many years. While he lived locally, Howard attended Deer Lakes Community Church of the Nazarene, where he served five years as a lay minister. His love of his church and with the encouragement of his pastor, Howard went back to school, obtained his bachelor’s degree and became a minister. He was assigned and joined Uniontown Church of the Nazarene as pastor, having served them for more than 10 years. He retired last year and settled in Jackson Township, where he had lived this past year. His passions were visiting the sick at the various hospitals, bringing them comfort through prayer, helping folks in need and playing the drums. Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Kathryn M. (Thornton) Foust; children, Thomas C. Foust, Anchorage, Alaska; Gerrie R. (Mark) Wagner, West View; and Paul S. Kenny, Indianland, S.C.; grandchildren, Cierra, Isabella, Creighton, Bryant, Daniel and Killian; sisters, Cheryl (Wayne) Griffith, Bentleyville; and Patty (Malcolm) Lipscomb, Butler; and brothers-in-law, William (Marcia) Thornton, Ed (Donna) Thornton and Ronnie Thornton. Preceded in death by parents, Charles Foust and Mary Katherine (Smith) Foust. Family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday at Siwicki- Yanicko Funeral Home, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Township, where funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday.
