JOHNSTOWN — STILES – Samuel Lewis, 25, Johnstown, passed away Oct. 28, 2012, in Sasebo, Japan. Born Aug. 18, 1987 in Fairfax, Va., son of the late Coletta (McVay) Stiles. In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by great-grandmother, Trella Shaffer. Survived by 3-year-old son, Ledger Elliot Stiles, and his mother, Corrina, Virginia; maternal grandmother, Freda Hudsky, Johnstown; paternal grandparents, Walter A. and Phyllis Stiles, Dilltown; father, Walter A. Stiles III; stepmother, Cheryl Vivian; and former stepmother, Rebecca (Gore) Stiles, all of Johnstown; brother, Walter A. Stiles IV, married to the former Stephanie Garcia; and nieces, Miley and Taelyn Stiles, all of San Antonio, Texas. Petty Officer Second Class Samuel Stiles joined the Navy in 2006 after graduating from Richland High School. Sam served several tours out to sea and deployments aboard the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson. Sam was reborn at a Believer’s Baptism at Emmanuel Baptist Church on May 25, 1997. He was full of love and compassion. Sam will be sadly missed by all. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, the Rev. David Streets, officiating. Interment, Forest Lawn Memorial Park, with military honors.
