PITTSBURGH — DOLGAS – John, 85, Pittsburgh, formerly of Windber, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at Canterbury Place Nursing Home, Pittsburgh. Born in 1927, in Johnstown, son of the late Vasil and Bertha Dolgas. Survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary; and his sons, John M. Dolgas, Pittsburgh; and Thomas J. Dolgas, and wife, Laura, and their children, Emily and Elena, Greensburg. He retired from Bethlehem Steel. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Windber; and dedicated service to Boy Scout Troop 110, Windber, where he was awarded the St. George Emblem, The Order of Merit Award and Silver Beaver Award in recognition to his commitment. He also served in the Navy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Helen Drye (Dolgas), and brother, Charles Dolgas, both of Johnstown. Friends were received Monday at English Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 378 Maryland Ave., Oakmont, Pa. 15139 (412-828-6565). Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Irenaeus Catholic Church, Oakmont. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. with military honors at The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville.
