CRESSON — JOHNSON – Jerry G., 77, Cresson, passed away, July 3, 2012, at Select Specialty Hospital. Born Oct. 27, 1934, in Logan, W.Va., son of Ira and Maude (Bennett) Johnson. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, William and Ira Johnson Jr. and Gene Tunney; and sister, Lila White. Survived by loving wife, Helen Beth Johnson, Cresson; and daughters, Gerrie Lynn Johnson and Melanie Johnson, both of California. Also survived by several grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Brother of Phyllis Sue Baxter, Vermillion, Ohio; Linda Ferrell, Jeffries, W.Va.; and Kenneth Johnson, Whitman, W.Va. He served in the U.S. Army. Retired laborer from National Lumber Co. in California. He was a Christian and enjoyed Blue Grass Gospel Music. At Jerry’s request, service and burial will be private. Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage, is serving the Johnson family.
