TIRE HILL — KUZMA – Edward, 85, Tire Hill, passed away Jan. 2, 2013, at Laurel View Village. Born Oct. 10, 1927, in Johnstown, son of John and Mary (Podbensik) Kuzma. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Ruth (Edwards) Kuzma; brothers, Stephen, Alvin and William Kuzma; sister, Margaret Bevec; and grandson, Richard Jones. Survived by loving daughters, Joyce, married to Edward Patosky, Tire Hill; and Sharon, married to Jack Jones, Hollsopple; grandchildren, Melissa, married to Dennis Bloom; Shawn, married to Julie Patosky; and Jack, married to Kelly Jones; and great-grandchildren, Tyler and Emily Levadnuk, Taylor and Brittany Bloom and Amanda Jones. Also survived by brother, Paul, married to Paula Kuzma; sister, Alice Kuzma; and loving and loyal companion, Threse Baywood, and family. Edward was a Korean War veteran and retired from Bethlehem Steel with 34 years of service. Member of St. Anne Catholic Church, Moxham; 50-year member of Slovene National Benefit Society; SNPJ national board member; president of Lodge 289; past president of Conemaugh Valley Federation; Jerome American Legion; charter member of Hollsopple and Tire Hill Sportsmen’s; and Conemaugh Township Krings Volunteer Fire Department. He promoted his Slovenian heritage and enjoyed listening and dancing to polka music. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Moskal & Kennedy Colonial Funeral Home, Moxham, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Father Bernard Karmanocky, officiating.
