CRESSON — MITCHELL – Ruth D., 87, Cresson, formerly of Spangler, passed away Jan. 8, 2013, at Golden Living Center, Hillsdale. Born Oct. 14, 1925, in Portage, daughter of Lewis and Mary (McCreary) Wagner. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Devon Mitchell, who died Feb. 2, 1993; brother, Edward Wagner; sister, Mary Louise Rice; and infant sister, Romaine. Survived by daughter, Janet, wife of David Wise, Cresson; sons, Tom Mitchell, husband of Donna Lee Farrell, Del.; and Scott Mitchell, Texas; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Sister of Jim (Sarah) Wagner, Indiana. Also survived by special cousins, Paul Anderson, New Jersey; and Chester McCreary, Virginia. Member of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, where she was past president of the Ladies Guild. Friends received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Moriconi Funeral Home Inc., Northern Cambria, and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Northern Cambria, Pastor Marty Cartmell, officiating. Interment, Uniontown Cemetery.
