JOHNSTOWN — CALIK – Mildred, 89, Johnstown, entered into eternal life Jan. 24, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. Born May 11, 1923, in Johnstown, daughter of Paul Sr. and Susan (Mellecky) Payerchin. Preceded in death by parents; husband of 56 years, John Calik Jr.; son, Robert A. Calik; brothers, Paul and Michael Payerchin; and sisters, Marie Kubofcik, Margaret Chervik and Sophie Payerchin. Mildred was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survived by children, Dennis, married to the former Pamela Weimer, Arizona; Karen, wife of Dan Bantley, Summerhill; Richard, married to the former Sherrl Dunmier, Kansas; Susan, wife of Donald Osborn, Johnstown; Gary Calik, Lancaster; and Patricia, wife of Lawrence Urban; and Nancy, wife of Michael Miller, both of Johnstown; grandchildren, Shannon Lamoreux, Darrick Bantley, Sonya Herring, Jason Calik, Jenifer Rahn, Amanda Brown, Ashlen Calik, Donald and Matthew Osborn, Kimberly and Gregory Calik, Austin and Jacob Urban, and Joshua, Marissa and Tanner Miller; great-grandchildren, Gianna Hardison, Preston Lamoreux, Liam Brown, Dylan Rahn and Devin and Hayley Bantley; and a great-grandson due in February; also daughter-in-law, Michele (Gdula) Calik. Mildred was a wonderful cook specializing in Slovak dishes. She enjoyed crafts, telling jokes and spending time with her four daughters who were always there for her. Mildred leaves behind a loving family and a lifetime of wonderful memories that they will cherish forever. She will be sadly missed by special friends at Valley Pike Manor, where she enjoyed independent living over the last six years. Mildred was a woman of strong faith and a big heart. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., 710 Broad St., and from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Pastors Custead, officiating. Interment, Grandview Cemetery.
