Thomas Jasper

GALLITZIN — JASPER – Thomas “Al,” 76, Gallitzin, died Jan. 29, 2013, at his home. Born July 1, 1936, in Gallitzin, son of the late Thomas A. and Lillian (Hudock) Jasper. Preceded in death by son, Thomas A. III, on Dec. 26, 1999; sisters, Edna Madigan and Virginia Miller; and brothers, Jack and Edward Reagan. Survived by wife, the former Louise Hufford, whom he married Oct. 26, 1960; children, Theresa (Bill) Clinemyer, Lilly; Susan Rickens, Altoona; Melissa, at home; and John (Jen), Cresson; and grandchildren, Billy, Trisha, Amber, Jason, Corey, Alyssa, Tommie and Christina; stepgrandson, Isaac; also nine great-grandchildren. Brother of Mary Kapustka and Donald (Peg), both of Gallitzin. He worked as a coal miner for R&P Coal Corp. and Helen Mining. Al enjoyed bowling, hunting and fishing. Former member of Gallitzin Legion, Italian Club, Sportsmen’s Club, Gallitzin Area Ambulance and Gallitzin Fire Company. Member of St. Demetrius Catholic Church, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, the Rev. Albert Ledoux, celebrant. Committal, St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church St., Gallitzin, where vigil service will be held Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Gallitzin Area Ambulance or Gallitzin Fire Company.
