Richard Slavick

JOHNSTOWN — SLAVICK – Richard, 72, Johnstown, died Jan. 29, 2013, at Memorial Medical Center. Born April 14, 1940, in Johnstown, son of Stephen M. and Rose (Demor) Slavick. Preceded in death by parents; wife of 50 years, Loretta (Nacosky) Slavick; brother, Stephen; and brothers-in-law, Francis Hoffman and Elgene Biber. Survived by daughters, Laurie, wife of Harry Lint, Palmyra, Pa.; and Vicki, wife of Charles Lermineau, Beaverdale; grandson, Robert Lint; sisters, Margaret Hoffman; Evelyn Biber; and Rosemary, wife of Paul Eck; special great-niece, Alysia Stanton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Richard was a former employee of Conemaugh and Blacklick Railroad and M. Glosser and Son’s, where he worked as a heavy equipment mechanic. He was known by his friends and family as a man that could fix anything from a necklace to a piece heavy machinery. He will be remembered as a kind and loving father, grandfather, uncle and brother who will be missed by all who knew him. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., 710 Broad St., where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Friday at Resurrection Parish, Father Alan Thomas, officiating.
