CENTRAL CITY — FERENCE – Olga (Filyo), 88, Central City, passed away peacefully Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at Somerset Hospital. Born July 29, 1924. Preceded in death by parents, Metro and Susan Filyo; sisters, Mary, Margaret and Wilma Filyo; Anna Maddy; Julia Yaskola; and brothers, Michael and Stephen Filyo. Survived by husband, Mike “Ike” Ference, Central City; daughter, Marcella, and husband, Michael Hydock, Columbia, Md.; grandson, Philip Hydock, Columbia, Md.; sisters, Helen Kott, Central City; and Pauline Sadosky, Lancaster. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Olga will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and Baba. Family and friends will be received from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Mulcahy Funeral Home, Central City, where Parastas will be sung at 6 p.m. A brief service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, followed by funeral service at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Russian Orthodox Church, Father Elijah Bremer. Committal will follow in the parish cemetery. A repast will be held at St. Mary’s church hall following the burial service.
