EBENSBURG — SCHENK-COLAIANNI – Margaret M. (Stout), 96, Ebensburg, died Jan. 28, 2012, at Cambria Care Center. Born Sept. 4, 1915, in Ebensburg, daughter of Frank and Margaret (Kirsch) Stout. Preceded in death by parents; first husband, Fred Schenk; second husband, Matt Colaianni; and brothers and sisters, George, Gerald, Lewis, Ollie, Francis, Reginald, Alean, Marcelline and Dorothy. Survived by children, Eugene V. Schenk, Gwen Vargo and Gladys Hallett; 11 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren; also 12 great-great-grandchildren. Also survived by special nephew, Leonard Stout, Buffalo, N.Y.; and Pen Pal Louise V. Riker, Hagerstown, Md. A graduate of the State School Institute of Mental Health and attended nurses training at the Median School of Nursing in Pittsburgh. Formerly employed at Ebensburg State Center; Hi-Way Diner and Jo Ann Dress Factory, both of Ebensburg; and numerous places in Pittsburgh and Ohio. Life member of Post 4963 VFW ladies auxiliary and Ebensburg Senior Center. Margaret enjoyed her grand, great-grand and great-great-grandchildren. She enjoyed sketching, water colors and acrylic painting and won many awards for her talent. At Margaret’s request there will be no public viewing. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg, the Rev. Monsignor Arnold L. Gaus. Committal, Holy Name Cemetery, Ebensburg. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to American Cancer Society in Margaret’s memory. Funeral arrangements by Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg.
