DAVIDSVILLE — SWANK – June Elaine, 83, Davidsville, formerly of Hooversville, died Nov. 20, 2012, at Memorial Medical Center. Born May 5, 1929, in Quemahoning Township, daughter of Irvin and Margaret (Miller) Swank. Preceded in death by parents and five infant brothers. Survived by a special friend, Elizabeth “Libby” Wilson, South Fork. She was a 1947 graduate of Hooversville High School, and received bachelor’s and masters degrees in education from the University of Pittsburgh. She taught school 39 years in Somerset County, having retired in 1991 from Conemaugh Township School District. Member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Stoystown, and Hooversville Lions Club. Life member of the National Education Association. She enjoyed traveling the world and teaching Sunday school. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Hooversville, where a Lions service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Stoystown, Pastor Sharon Fox and Pastor Jay Shaffer, officiating.
