CANTON, MICH. — NAGLE – Geraldine (Diehl), 97, Canton, Mich., formerly of Cassandra, passed away Nov. 29, 2012. Born Oct. 21, 1915, daughter of John A. and Ruth (Bishop) Noel. Preceded in death by parents; stepmother, Beatrice Noel, husbands, Hebert J. Diehl and Woodrow Nagle; and sisters, Mildred Duman, LaVerne Tracey and Lucille Barton. Dearest mother to Patricia (Aubert) Carruthers and Connie (Frank) Vasilnek. Loving grandmother to Herbert (Jeanine) Carruthers, Sheri Newcomb, Ann (Kurt) McMahan, Michael (Jill) Vasilnek, Matthew Carruthers and Lori (Frank) Popyk. She also is survived by 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Rita Rodgers, Jean O’Donnell, Norma Rupp and Mary (Bill) Hoppel; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend and caregiver, Evelyn Eyler. She will dearly be missed by all the lives she touched. Former owner and operator of Diehls Hotel in Cassandra with her husband, Herbert. Jerry was a retired nurse from the Ebensburg State School and an elected executive member of the Sunshine Mobile Home Park when she lived in Florida. She enjoyed playing bingo and making quilts for her family. Family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., Portage. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel, Loretto, Father Allen Zetch, celebrant. Committal, St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Cresson.
