JOHNSTOWN — BURNS – Rita M., 86, formerly of Vinco, died Dec. 10, 2012, at St. Jude’s Haven, Johnstown. Born July 1, 1926, daughter of Ralph and Kathleen (Hines) Pratt. Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Winifred Hand and Kathleen Pratt; and brothers, Wendell and William H. Pratt. Survived by husband of 66 years, Thomas Burns, whom she married Nov. 30, 1946; sister, Dolores Blessing, Brook Park, Ohio; and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Rita retired as secretary from the office of the former District Justice Leo Finnegan. She and her husband, Tom, owned and operated Rita’s Inn near South Fork for 15 years. Member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Mundys Corner, Legion of Mary and ladies auxiliary. At Rita’s request, there will be no public viewing or visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Friday at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, the Very Rev. Andrew C. Stanko, VF. Committal, Holy Name Mausoleum, Ebensburg. In memory of Rita, memorial donations may be sent to St. Jude Tribute Program, P.O. Box 1000, Department 142, Memphis, Tenn. 38148-0142.
