GALLITZIN — REGALA – William J. “Bill,” 93, Gallitzin, died Dec. 11, 2012, at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born June 8, 1919, in Clearfield, son of the late Louis and Anna (Leja) Regala. Preceded in death by wife, the former Elizabeth “Betty” Chernesky, on July 7, 2006; daughter, Janet Dzielski, on Sept. 4, 2002; brothers, Alex and Michael; and sister, Stella Shyrock. Survived by sons, Daniel, Gallitzin; Brian, Gallitzin; Darcy (Joanne), Ebensburg; David (Sharon), Ebensburg; and Marlane (Richard), Hollidaysburg; grandchildren, Tammy, Shawn, Todd, Danna, Samantha, Holly, Amanda and Jeremy, Jonathan and Little David; great-grandchildren, Jake, Kyle, Cody, Brianna, Brendon, Breanna and Hope; and sister, Genevieve Mikolajczyk, Cresson. Bill worked as a coal miner and in construction. He enjoyed spending time with his sons, going to eat, flea markets, hunting, fishing and doing work for the Carmelite Sisters in Loretto. Member of UMWA and St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, the Rev. Albert Ledoux, celebrant. Committal, St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church St., Gallitzin, where vigil service will be held Thursday. (www.gibbonsfunerals.com)
