LaMont Peterman

BENSALEM, PA. — PETERMAN – LaMont, 67, Bensalem, Pa., passed away Aug. 3, 2012, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. He graduated from Fairmont State College in West Virginia with a teaching degree in industrial arts. He worked as a mechanical engineer at Adamson Flat Glass in Clarksburg and subsequently as building inspector for the city of Fairmont. He was skilled in all aspects of the building industry including masonry, electricity and remodeling. LaMont faced many serious challenges due to the nature of his disease and met them all with courage and dignity. He enjoyed people and always maintained his sense of humor. He was particularly gifted in woodworking and created many original designs for the furniture and clocks that he made. His sister will always treasure the grandfather clock that he made for her. Preceded in death by parents, Clyde and Lois Peterman, Hooversville; and various extended family. Survived by sister, Sheila Peterman, and companion, Ted Johnson, Bensalem, Pa., with whom he resided; and daughters, Shawna Peterman-Shantee, Fairmont, W.Va.; and Lori Peterman-Peterson, Pittsburgh; also five grandchildren. An extended gratitude goes to the dedicated nurses who work in the infusion center of St. Mary’s Medical Center for their kindness and attentiveness to all of his needs. They made him feel valued and special. A private service will be held at a later date in Hooversville. Contributions in his name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, Tenn. 38101-0050.
