PATTON — EAGLER – Shirley A. (Abrams), 77, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully Sept. 27, 2012, at her home in Patton. Born May 21, 1935, in Hastings, daughter of William and Ruth (Wagner) Gregory. Preceded in death by parents; infant brothers, Jack and Arthur Gregory; and former husband, Donald “Greenie” Abrams. Survived by daughters, Donna (Abrams) Taylor, and husband, the Rev. Charles Taylor, New Berlin, N.Y.; Dorothy Dietrich (Abrams), and husband, the Rev. Timothy Dietrich, Portage; and Ruth (Abrams) Mason, and husband, Charles Mason, Elmora; grandchildren, Gregory Mason, Elmora; Christie Bonfanti (Dietrich), and husband, Ron Bonfanti, Beaverdale; Scott Taylor, New Berlin, N.Y.; Chad Mason, Clymer; David Dietrich, Elkton, Md.; and Brett Taylor and Jeanette Ray, both of New Berlin, N.Y.; and great-granddaughters, Lyla June Taylor and Ashley Grace Bonfanti; also sister, Lois Weakland, Patton. She was devoted to her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We will never forget her abiding faith in God and her beautiful prayer life. One of her favorite passages from the Bible is from Phillipians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” She truly lived and walked by faith. Memorial service for the immediate family was held Oct. 1 at Long-Contres Funeral Home Inc., Northern Cambria, the Rev. Timothy Dietrich, officiating. Interment, East Ridge Cemetery, the Rev. Charles Taylor, officiating.
