JOHNSTOWN — SPENCE – Rita M., 81, Johnstown, died Oct. 9, 2012, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Nov. 1, 1930, in Seward, daughter of George L. and Winifred (Nolan) Spence. Preceded in death by parents; infant brother, Raymond; and brother, Robert Paul, and wife, Audrey (Hahn). Survived by brother, Charles J., married to the former Mary Jo Zeunges, Plumville; sister, Sister Nancy E. Spence, CCW, Gallitzin; and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Member of Visitation of the BVM, where she was a former sacristan, Eucharist minister, former member of Legion of Mary and Rosary and Altar Society, and Society of the Incarnation. A 1948 graduate of Johnstown Catholic High School. Former office manager of Ophthalmic Associates for 40 years. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at John Henderson Co. Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Visitation of the BVM, Father Barry Baroni. Committal, Grandview Cemetery.
