PORTAGE — PAULEY – Mrs. Betty J. (Parks), 87, Portage, passed away peacefully Feb. 13, 2013, at home. Born Sept. 15, 1925, in Portage, daughter of Hal and Lillian (Hammond) Parks. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Herman; son, Herm; brothers, Warren, Hal, Charles, Donald, Carl and Albert; and special friend, Ernest Brunnet. Survived by daughter, Betty Scavone, New Jersey; grandchildren, David (Tammy) Schmidt, Monmouth Junction, N.J.; Daniel (Jennifer) Schmidt, Holly Springs, N.C.; April (Anthony) Magistro, Howell, N.J.; Jacquiline (Dave) Evans, Portage; Sally (Steven) Stavila, East Brunswick, N.J.; Christie Pauley, Salix; and Christine (Bryan) Grossmann, East Brunswick, N.J.; great-grandchildren who knew her as Big Mommom, Zachary and Kelsey; Nicholas; Alexandra and Arianna; and Timothy, Kaitlyn, Deven, Gianna and Bradley; dear sister-in-law, Harriet Pauley; and many nieces and nephews. Betty retired from Mercy Hospital, Johnstown, where she worked for 17 years. Member of Trinity United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Jean H. Kinley Funeral Home, Portage. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity United Methodist Church, the Rev. Michael Long, officiating. Interment, Prospect Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family asks that contributions be sent to Trinity United Methodist Church.
