ST. BENEDICT MANOR — CALLAHAN – Leona, 90, St. Benedict Manor, formerly of Carrolltown, passed away March 16, 2013. Born Feb. 1, 1923, in East Carroll Township, the daughter of John and Julia (Sholtis) Stofko. Preceded in death by parents; husband, George Lane, who died Dec. 14, 1963; second husband, Lawrence Callahan; son, Daniel Lane; daughter-in-law, Connie (Prida) Lane; great-granddaughter, Trista Penrod; five sisters; and two brothers. Survived by daughter, Dorothy, wife of Roger Penrod, Carrolltown; grandchildren, George Penrod, married to Lori Davis; Michael, and special friend, Lonnie Blake; David Penrod, married to Susan Bibleheimer; Amanda, married to Jason Pope; and Daniel Lane; and great-grandchildren, Cory, Dustin, Kayla, Amanda, Olivia, Emily, Rosie, Michael Jr. and Jocelyn Penrod and Miles Pope. Member of St. Benedict Catholic Church and Altar and Rosary Society and Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post 506. Life member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Carrolltown Fire Club and Carrolltown Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Moriconi Funeral Home Inc., Northern Cambria. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Father Jude Brady, OSB, celebrant. Committal, North Barnesboro Cemetery.
