RICHLAND TOWNSHIP — HITE – Eva M., 96, Richland Township, died March 17, 2013, at Windber Hospice. Born April 19, 1916, in Lilly, daughter of Charles and Nina (Sweeney) Brown. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred J. Hite; daughter, Mary Beth Hite; brothers, Earl, Walter and Charles; and sisters, Margaret Goss and Hilda Brown. She is survived by her loving children, the Rev. Jordan F. Hite, TOR, Baltimore, Md.; Patricia, wife of Eric Baker, Indiana, Pa.; Linda M. Hite, Richland Township; and Barbara Hite-Irons, wife of Terry Irons, South Fork; grandchildren, John Pettina, married to the former Cathy Jones, Indiana, Pa.; Stephanie Pettina, Pittsburgh; and Lynn, wife of Keith Yun, Canal Winchester, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Jay, Alex, Nathan and Alayna; and several nieces and nephews. Eva was a graduate of Lilly High School. She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church for 62 years. Member of the Legion of Mary and composer of a Scriptural Rosary. Eva enjoyed baking and will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where vigil for the deceased will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Father Jordan F. Hite, TOR. Committal, St. Joseph Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to St. Benedict Catholic Church, 2310 Bedford St., Johnstown, Pa. 15904, in memory of Eva.
