PATTON — MITCHELL– Grace L., 85, Patton, passed away peacefully at home, Friday, March 8, 2013, in the house her beloved Bill built for her. She was born July 31, 1927, in Patton, the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Sunseri) Leary. She married William T. Mitchell Aug. 24, 1943. Bill preceded her in death May 23, 2011. Grace is survived by her four loving children, William E. Mitchell, Patton; Grace “Cookie” Elias (John R.), Patton; Margaret “Peggy” O’Brien (John), Altoona; and Jeffrey K. Mitchell (Joyce), Patton; five grandchildren, John Jay Elias (Annette), Patton; Soni Wood, Bellwood; Jeffrey J. Mitchell (Amber), Loretto; Jamie Shanfield (Staff Sgt. Sydney) Patton; and Jesse W. Mitchell, Patton; eight great-grandchildren, AnnaGrace, John Todd, William T., Mitchell W. and Margaret S. Elias; Drew J. Saylor; Cameron and Nevin Wood, Bellwood; and Jamie’s baby due March 22. Also survived by a brother, John “Jack” Leary, Warren, Ohio. In addition to her parents and husband, William, Grace is preceded in death by her dear sister, Margaret Lischerelli. Grace and her husband Bill were two angels, each with one wing, who could only fly by embracing each other. Our family wants to express our sincere gratitude to the Home Hospice Nursing Agency, 118 Ebony Road, Ebensburg, Pa. 15722. The care, compassion and love by so many is truly appreciated. Also a special thank you to Dr. Jarrett Bender. Arrangements are private and under the direction of McCabe Funeral Home, Patton.
