JOHNSTOWN — BASERMAN – Frank M., 95, Upper Yoder Township, passed away Feb. 1, 2012, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Dec. 17, 1916, in Johnstown, son of William C. and Sarah (Patton) Baserman. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Martha I. (Baker); brothers, Kenneth, Merle and Richard; sister, Rosalie; and infant sister, Esther. Survived by children, David, married to Karen (Erdmann), Edmonds, Wash.; and Dennis, married to Nancy (Cornelius), Johnstown; grandchildren, Garrett, Erik and Kurt Baserman; Robin (Gaug) Gorman; Tracy (Brallier) Gady; and Jill (Brallier) Szoszorek; and great-grandchildren, Serena, Evan, Jared, Lily, Jack, Joey, Donny, Haley, Eve, Justin and Tammy. Member of St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, where he was very active. Navy veteran, having served in World War II. Lifetime member of Jr. OUAM. Frank graduated from Johnstown High School in 1936, where he was a star basketball player. He was a West Suburban Little League coach. Great joys in his life were hunting, fishing, golfing and bowling. He enjoyed being with family, especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was the last surviving member of his family. Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at John Henderson Co. Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave. A funeral service celebrating Frank’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Oakland United Methodist Church, 1504 Bedford St., Father Douglas Blakelock, celebrant. Military rites will be conducted by Charles Menoher VFW Post 155. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in Frank’s name to St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, 1601 Brier Ave., Johnstown, Pa. 15902.
