STOYSTOWN — FRITZ – Freda A., 101, Stoystown (Shanksville), died Dec. 23, 2012, at the home of her granddaughter in North Carolina. Born Dec. 11, 1911, in Tyrone, daughter of Emory and Mary Jane (Wissinger) McNeal. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Harry H.; brothers, Frank, Ramsey, John and Willard McNeal; and sisters, Kathryn Robine, Thelma Manges, Mary Hillegas, Ida Ward and Elizabeth McNeal. Survived by daughters, Betty Lou Fritz, Stoystown; and Elsie Jean McClucas, Maysville, N.C.; granddaughter, Holly Jean Thompson, and husband, Brian, Stella, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Laura Jean and Nathaniel Alexander Thompson; and sister, Edith, married to Myles Miller, Central City; also numerous nieces and nephews. Charter member of Shanksville Assembly of God. She kept a diary from the time she could write and throughout her entire life. She was a historian, quilter, rug maker, wonderful cook and played several instruments. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, the Rev. Dan Jones, officiating.
