CARROLLTOWN — KIRKPATRICK– Helen, 91, Carrolltown, passed away Jan. 4, 2013, at Altoona Regional Hospital. She was born Feb. 5, 1921, in Carrolltown, daughter of Edwin and Lucinda (Diethrich) Kline. Helen is preceded in death by parents; husband, Rubert F. Kirkpatrick; brothers, Pius, Paul and Regis; sisters, Sister M. Cornelia, Alma Stevens and Mary Hughes; grandchildren, Jeremy Kirkpatrick and Kimberly Biller; and a very special aunt, Freda “Mother” James. She is survived by children, Rose Marie and Mildred Toth, both of Fredericksburg, Va.; Edward Kirkpatrick, Janet Campbell, and Carol Hite, all of Carrolltown; Paul Kirkpatrick, Ebensburg; Norma Simanski, Ashville; and Mary Jane Grove, Ebensburg; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Helen was a loving mother and homemaker and volunteered for the Department of Aging Foster Grandparent Program for 24 years. She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown, where she was a member of the Altar- Rosary Society. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at Stevens Funeral Home Inc., 146 N. Main St., Carrolltown, Pa. 15722, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. Additional viewing will be held from 9 a.m. until time of funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown, the Rev. Jude W. Brady, OSB. Committal, church cemetery.
