PATTON — WEAKLAND – Isadore H. “Izzy” Sr., 87, Patton, passed away Jan. 13, 2013, at Golden Living Center-HAIDA. Born Sept. 9, 1925, in Carrolltown, son of Robert Baker and Clara (Weakland) Cafeo. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Awilda I. (Bott) Weakland, on March 10, 1999, whom he married on March 14, 1949; daughter, Janie Louise; and stepfather, Tony Cafeo. Survived by children, Izzy “Butch” (Terry) Weakland, Brunswick, Ohio; Bonnie Lou Weakland, Patton; Jim Weakland, Coalport; and Richard “Terry” (Doreen) Weakland, Patton. Also survived by grandchildren, Theresa, Natalie, Jacob, Joshua, Jenna, Tracy, Richie and Adam T.; great-grandchildren, Chloe and Kirsten Weakland and Kay Marie Bolen; sister-in-law, Louise Baker; and numerous nieces and nephews. Izzy served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He was employed at Patton Clay Works from 1953 to 1962. He also worked as a custodian for Cambria Heights School District and Trinity United Methodist Church for 25 years, having retired in 1988. Member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Patton. He enjoyed reading his Bible and caring for the elderly people in the community. Izzy was very active in the Cub Scouts, Patton American Legion and Patton VFW. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Stevens Funeral Home Inc., 1004 N. Fifth Ave., Patton. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity United Methodist Church, Patton, by the Rev. Paul Demi. Interment, Fairview Cemetery, Patton. Full military rites will be accorded by John White VFW Post 779 and Walter McCoy American Legion Post 614. Contributions may be made to Patton Pavers or Trinity United Methodist Church.
