Harold J. Brown

HOLLSOPPLE — BROWN – Harold J. “Brownie,” 85, Hollsopple, died Jan. 18, 2013, at LaurelWood Care Center, Johnstown. Born Sept. 2, 1927, in Jerome, son of Arthur and Dorcas Mae (Walker) Brown. Preceded in death by parents and son, Jeffrey H. Survived by wife of 64 years, Dorothy I. (Lint) Brown; son, Larry B., married to Vicki (Saylor), West Chester; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A graduate of Conemaugh Township Area High School, where he played football and was in the band. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Former comptroller for Quaker Sales, Johnstown. Retired employee from Pennsylvania DER, Ebensburg. Member of Way of Hope Christian Fellowship and former member of Westmont Church of Brethren, where he sang in the choir. Harold would often sing for many local churches. He also was an avid fisherman. There will be no viewing. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are  by Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Davidsville.
