JOHNSTOWN — GRUNDBERG – Marian E., 92, loving mother and grandmother of Richland Township, died peacefully Jan. 25, 2013, at Arbutus Park Manor. Born April 28, 1920, in Warren, Pa., daughter of Frederick and Rose (Cohlhepp) Carlson. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Clifford Grundberg; brothers, Lorrin, George and Donald Carlson; and sister, Barbara Weiland. Survived by loving children, Karen, wife of Bronco Toter, Johnstown; and George, married to the former Shirley Niederer, Tucson, Ariz.; grandchildren, Heidi (Toter), wife of James Allshouse, Newburg, Ind.; Michael, married to the former Brenda Turner, Warren, Pa.; Tanya (Toter), wife of Sean Carroll, Morgan Hill, Calif.; Kristopher Grundberg, Tucson, Ariz.; and Dr. Kelly (Grundberg), wife of Michael Halterman, Goodyear, Ariz.; great-grandchildren, Jake and Katy Allshouse; Jared Toter; and Joseph, Bryan and Danik Carroll; sister, Dorothy (Carlson), wife of Jerry Hefty, Henderson, Nev.; sister-in-law and best friend, Treva Carlson, Clarendon, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews. Marian resided in Warren until her retirement from New Process Co., then moved to Tucson, Ariz., for 17 years, and in 2002, she moved to Johnstown. She loved bowling, playing cards, and attending polka dances. At Marian’s request there will be no public viewing. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, Pastor Dick Yates of Medi Hospice, officiating. Private inurnment will be held at Warren County Memorial Park, Warren, at the convenience of the family. The family suggests contributions be directed to Arbutus Park Manor, Doerr Wing, 207 Ottawa St., Johnstown, Pa. 15904, or to Windber Hospice, 600 Somerset Ave., Windber, Pa. 15963, in memory of Marian.
