DALLAS, GA. — OSHANSKY – Catherine Louise “Katie,” 96, Dallas, Ga., formerly of Johnstown, passed away Jan. 31, 2013, at Wellstar Community Tranquility Hospice, Austell, Ga. Born Aug. 26, 1916, in Johnstown, daughter of the late Michael and Caroline (Mikesic ) Kalcic. Preceded in death by husband, John Oshansky; brothers, Joseph, Daniel and John; and sisters, Eva Kalcic, Anna Pechar, Mary Sharac and Barbara Cassata. Survived by loving sons, David J. Oshansky, married to Joel (Zahornek), Auburn, Maine, and Thomas J. Oshansky, married to Barbara (Pillow), Dallas, Ga.; grandchildren, Marc Oshansky, Auburn; Dr. Christine M. Oshansky- Weilnau, married to Mark Weilnau, Memphis, Tenn.; and Jeremy S. Oshansky, Rome, Ga.; and sisters, Rose Nyanko and Dorothy Chance, both of Johnstown; and Caroline Barone, White, Ga. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Catherine was a member of St. Anne’s Church and the Christian Mothers. During World War II, she worked as a riveter at Bethlehem Steel. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and an avid gardener. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Moskal & Kennedy Colonial Funeral Home, Moxham, where vigil service will be held. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anne Catholic Church, Moxham, Father Bernard Karmanocky officiating. Committal, Grandview Cemetery.
