RICHLAND — WINGARD – C. Dean, 75, Richland, died Feb. 14, 2013, at Arbutus Park Manor surrounded by loving family and caring staff of Crossroads. Born July 4, 1937, in Richland Township, son of Harvey R. and Mary E. (Hostetler) Wingard. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Nancy A., wife of Alex Refi; and nephew, Larry Wissinger. Survived by wife of 52 years, Eleanor A. (Papinchak) Wingard; children, Lisa D., wife of Timothy Jones, Windber; and Carla J., wife of Randy Straw; Dean J., husband of Angela (Zlater); and Mona J., wife of David D’Ambrosia, all of Richland; and grandchildren, Danielle (Jones) Kalp; Shannon Jones; Kurtis Straw; Ethan and Brynn Wingard; and Nicholas, Adam and Matthew D’Ambrosia. Also survived by sister, Marion E., wife of Donald Wissinger, Hyndman, Pa.; and loving brother, H. Jay, husband of Janice (Rich) Wingard, Richland. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Dean served in the U.S. Army Reserves with the 424th Transportation Co., and with the 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Ky. He started his banking career at the former Dale National Bank in 1955, and later became senior vice president at Cenwest Bank. Following the 1991 merger of Cenwest and Peoples Bank and Trust of Jennerstown with First Commonwealth Financial Corp., Dean was named president of Peoples Bank, where he served until his retirement. He also served on the board of directors of Conemaugh Valley Mutual Insurance Co. as treasurer. Dean enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing softball, golfing with his buddies and following his children and grandchildren in school and in sports. He loved being with people and enjoyed life. He will be missed. Member of Scalp Level Trinity United Methodist Church, Windber, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, the Rev. Fred Monk, the Rev. David Evans, and Deacon Tom Papinchak, officiating. Friends received from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Interment, Richland Cemetery.
