JOHNSTOWN — BERRY– Dorothy L., fondly known as Dot, 83, Johnstown, died Feb. 14, 2013. She was born July 10, 1929, in Johns- town, daughter of the late Norman Levi and Minnie (Holmes) Jones. Also preceded in death by her stepfather, Clarence Jefferson; loving husband, Wesley H. Berry, in 2001; daughter, Florence (Berry) Herring; sisters, Irene Doleman and Louise Jones; and brothers, Clarence and Milton Jones and John Jefferson. Dot is survived by children, Michael; Denise Grayson, and husband, Carl; Yvonne Woodard; and Wesley Jr., all of Johnstown; grandchildren, David; Devlin, and wife, Sonya; Dorian; Damian; Tina, and husband, Paul; Margaret; and Elisa; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Norman Jones and Donald Jefferson, both of Johnstown; sisters, Thelma Jones, New Jersey; Betty Veney, whose husband, Wilbur, passed on Feb. 8; and Lorena Manning; and special friends, Edith Bush, Shirley Triplin and Francine Cashaw, who was fondly thought of as a daughter. Dot worked at CVMH in housekeeping, and after working on and receiving her GED, which both she and her children were so proud of, in central supply. She was an active member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church, being involved as a deaconess, usher, Sunday school teacher and nurse and in senior choir, the puppet ministry and bake sales and where friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, and service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, the Rev. Dr. Ralph E. Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. The family is being served by Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd. (ptbmortuary.com)
