Joel Pellegrino

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. — PELLEGRINO – Joel, 55, formerly of Ebensburg, passed away Oct. 29, 2012, at home in Virginia Beach, Va. Born Oct. 6, 1957, in California, son of Jack and Carol (Beattie) Pellegrino. Preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Edward and Helen Beattie; uncles, Edwin and Jay Beattie; aunt, LaDean (Beattie) Kramp; paternal grandparents, Russell and Theresa Pellegrino; and mother-in-law, Jan McMillan. Survived by parents; wife, Debra; son, Vincent; and daughter, Vanessa, all of Virginia Beach; brothers, Jay and Jeff Pellegrino; and sister, Beth (Pellegrino) Bellock, wife of Joseph Bellock. Also survived by nephews, Jordan and Blake Pellegrino and Chad, Brett and Scott Bellock. A graduate of Central Cambria High School, Class of 1976, Joel also had attended Mount Aloysius College. He served in the U.S. Navy for eight years and was employed as a logistician for CDI. Joel coached and umpired for several years for the youth leagues in the Virginia Beach area. Private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family, the Rev. Monsignor Arnold L. Gaus, officiating. Committal, Holy Name Cemetery. Arrangements by Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Ebensburg. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joel’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
