RICHLAND TOWNSHIP — KENNEY – Violet M., 87, Richland Township, went to be with the Lord March 8, 2013. She was born Nov. 10, 1925, in Bolivar, daughter of Frank and Mary J. (Dryburg) Gallardo. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James R. Kenney Sr.; son, James R. Jr.; brothers, Tom and John; sister, Cleda Straw; and a sister-in-law, Josephine Gallardo. Survived by her loving daughters, Linda L. Clark, Windber, and Pamela J., wife of Joel Popma, Richland; grandchildren, Michael (Laura) Popma, Joel (Kristy) Popma, Heather (Brandon) Schenck, Amy Kenney and Rema and Charles Clark; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Violet was a welder during the war. She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church. Violet enjoyed playing cards, singing and dancing and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Father David S. Peles, pastor. Committal, Richland Cemetery.
