PATTON — SEVER – Robert F. “Bob,” 87, Patton, passed away Oct. 28, 2012, at his home. Born Aug. 29, 1925, in Johnstown, son of the late John and Helen (Schimpf) Sever. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Patricia (Lechene) Sever, who was a devoted caregiver for the past nine years. They were married Nov. 3, 1951. Also survived by sons, Lawrence Sever, Patton; and Edward Sever, Hastings; daughters, Teresa and Jim Mitasky, Northern Cambria; Michelle Romagna, Patton; and Denise Zalisnock, and fiance, Frank Bailey, Hastings; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by infant son, Shawn Sever; daughter-in-law, Pamela Sever; brothers, John, William, Edward and George Sever; and sister, Catherine Sever. Bob was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Patton American Legion and Knights of Columbus 4890. Bob was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during World War II on the USS Refuge. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McCabe Funeral Home, Patton, where Patton VFW and American Legion will conduct a military service at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Patton.
