JOHNSTOWN — LONG – Dolores M., 87, Johnstown, went to be with her Lord and Savior Feb. 23, 2013. She passed away peacefully at home. She was born June 24, 1925, in Johnstown, daughter of Clemison and Grace (Colbert) Varner. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Stephen Carl Long; sister, Eleanor Meyers; and brothers, Montell, Ellwood and Harold. Dolores was the last surviving member of her family. Survived by daughter, Carol Long Gresh; grandson, Stephen Carl Gresh; and grandpuppy, Shawn Matthew. Dolores was a graduate of East Conemaugh High School and Hammond Beauty School. She was a cosmetologist in Altoona before she married Stephen Long. She enjoyed going to church, sewing, reading and canning foods from the garden. She was a member of Summit Chapel United Methodist Church. At the request of the family, there will be a private viewing, service and committal at Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Pastor John Weaver, officiating. The family requests that you make donations in Dolores’ memory to Summit Chapel United Methodist Church, 2142 William Penn Ave., Johnstown, Pa. 15909. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16.
