PATTON — BORN – Robert G., 83, Patton, passed Feb. 26, 2013, at home. Born July 31, 1929, in Hastings, son of Henry and Martha (Kane) Born. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Fred and Bernard Born; and sisters, Eileen Ehman and Beatrice Yeager. Survived by wife, Rhoda (Jury) Born, whom he married Oct. 6, 1955; children, Vance (Carol) Born, Arizona; Peggy (William) Stauffer, Altoona; Dennis Born, Muncy, Ind.; and Theresa (Joe) Lansberry, Patton; grandchildren, Cyndi and Gary Lansberry and Chanel Born; sisters, Frances Martin, Audrey McGinley, Dolores Smith, Carol Cretin and Delma Corbin; brothers, Herman and George Born; and many nieces and nephews. He retired as a tech sergeant from the U.S. Air Force after 21 years of service, having served during World War II. Bob was a member of Hastings VFW, TREA Chapter 98 (The Retired Enlisted Association) and Queen of Peace Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, providing corn for the TREA picnic and spending time with his grandchildren. Friends received from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, at Stevens Funeral Home Inc., 1004 N. Fifth Ave., Patton, Pa. 16668, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday by Benedictine Fathers. Committal, St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorials are requested to Village-In-Place-Hospice, 304 Ritchey St., Martinsburg, Pa. 16662, or Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Patton, Pa. 16668.
