McKENDREE – James R., 80, Johnstown, died July 27, 2012, at Windber Hospice. Born Oct. 15, 1931, in Johnstown, son of the late William and Loretta (Killian) McKendree. Preceded in death by his brother, Bill. Survived by his wife, Erma (Smith) McKendree, whom he married Dec. 24, 1960; children, Debbie Marol, and husband, Ronald C., Johnstown; Loretta McKendree, Johnstown; and James W. McKendree, and wife, April, Ebensburg; grandchildren, Ronald J. Marol, Megan Tomeo and Gina Zackharin; and great-grandchildren, Brenna, Angelo and Gianna. He retired from Merck Pharmaceuticals. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at John Henderson Co. Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., where funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, the Very Rev. James F. Crookston. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association.
